“Can someone explain what a SMALL firefight is.”

Which is smaller, a smither or a smithereen? And really, wth is a smither anyway? Maybe a small firefight is a skirmish gone bad or a battle where one side runs away? I know, a small firefight is a lulaby sung to children in order to keep them from waking up. SHHHhhhh... don’t wake the baby.

Ricks works for the Obama administration in all but name. His former bosses at the Center for a New American Security, Michèle Flournoy and Kurt Campbell currently serve as the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy and the Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs . The current CEO of CNAS, Nathaniel C. Fick, served on the Obama Presidential Transition Team at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Argumentum ad hominem is a fallacy. He can scream about Fox all he wants, but the truth is that Ricks is a rude propagandist.

Tom Ricks thinks that an Ambassador is somehow equivalent to “security contractor”? This Tom Ricks thinks that snipers and IEDS taking out some security contractors is equal to an American facility being over-run and important intelligence being grabbed by Al Qaeda? An assault on the US Embassy in Egypt, led by the brother of Al Qaeda’s head, Zawahiri and an assault and overrunning of an American diplomatic facility on the same day is not “a small firefight”. It was coordinated assualt by the enemy for PR purposes and to gain intelligence and hostages. Ricks isn’t an idiot. He knows the truth but is lying to protect the administration. His ad hominem attacks in lieu of an analysis is proof of this.

The high profile people involved are a clear message to the little folks that no one is too big, none too prominent, none too important, so the lesser players had better keep their mouths shut.

I agree...and they'll probably be photoshopped out before the next Immaculation.

I am just astounded by this.

Immediately after the attack there were several articles and interviews on the tube explaining that:

1. the attack triggered alerts to everybody in the military and the government who had any involvement in the problem or the possible solutions.

2. the military prepares for situations like that and has men and equipment ready to respond on a moment's notice.

3. it is likely that the military commanders in Africa and Europe including the Navy, began responding by starting to move move men and equipment toward Benghazi to rescue or support the rescue.

4. live video feeds from the Benghazi consulate were available to a large number of military commanders and government officials.

5. the rescue plans require a presidential order to allow the military to enter a foreign country

6. Libya has no effective government.

7. If the US wanted an authorization to enter their airspace, Libya would have given it.

SO, why weren't the men rescued?

You are correct, as well as the BS about why did Susan Rice lie on the Sunday talking heads shows and is it not PC to question her fitness for the SoS job.

We must keep asking:

Who gave the order to our military to “stand down” and NOT implement plans to rescue our men in Benghazi on 9-11-12?

When?

Why?

If we get truthful answers to those questions, the follow up questions will put Watergate into perspective

Keep fighting my FRiend

3. it is likely that the military commanders in Africa and Europe including the Navy, began responding by starting to move move men and equipment toward Benghazi to rescue or support the rescue.

Within days, the stories were out that the Admiral in Command of the Stennis Carrier Group was relieved of command on the spot when he had indicated he was going to send in assistance regardless. He has since been attacked for allegedly letting details of Bin Laden's burial at sea leak via e-mail (yeah, right).

The commanding general of AFRICOM had similarly been relieved of command (on the spot) by his second-in-command when he indicated that he was going forward with rescue plans.

The subsequent story was (for a while) that he was undergoing a change of duty posting which had been planned.

Petreus had indicated 'no one at CIA had issued a stand down order' and his mistress popped up.

Similar statements were, iirc, issued by the Secretary of State and Panetta over at DOD, and they're looking for work...

Susan Rice, who tried to tell the American People that this event was the result of a spontaneous protest (over a 6 month-old YouTube video with a whopping 200 hits in that time) which got carried away, and other lies, is up for the SOS nomination?

Not only has some one turned this kitten inside out, they're sitting there petting it as if it is absolutely normal while anyone who has been paying attention looks at the MSM in absolute disbelief.

FRiend, our problem, the first and foremost problem in America, isn't the Communists nor the crooks in Government. Our Problem is the MEDIA.

Eliminate that problem, and get honest and truthful people in there and the rest will fall.
