I will probably catch a lot of flack for saying this, but the proposed junk food tax is one of several situations where when we don’t control ourselves, our meddling government steps in and does it for us.

About 15-20 years ago California passed a candy tax. You got it, it hurt sales so they reversed it.
Which would be meaningful, if the government didn’t step in whn we do control ourselves. There is nothing government will not step into.
