Bush43 “ran” as a conservative twice even if he didn't always govern as one and won both times—he did not have the RINO baggage of Romney, Dole, McCain and his daddy during his second run...

A presidential candidate running as a conservative wins every time.

Goldwater?

Gimme a break, LBJ was JFK's second term—nobody was gonna beat him.

Romney lost to the worse president since Woodrow Wilson no matter how you spin it...it is his cross to bear and no one elses.

Saying RINO Romney was not to blame for losing the election is like saying it wasn't Hitler's fault he lost WWII—pure nonsense.

RE :”Certainly the McCain/Romney model of putting empty suits up to beat Obama didnt work .

- - - - -
We told them it wouldn’t. They didn’t listen.”

I think the reason why Romney came off so weak after the first debate when O was on the attack is that he(Romney) couldn't remember all his lies and so he was scared of getting called on them and trapping himself.

Now the new thing with the Romney Koolaid drinkers is they say Romney really won, and the polls saying he would lose were all rigged too. Its Jim Jones (for them) time.

I would not purchase any of her books after what I have heard from her. This recent election has revealed a lot of people for who they really are.

Or who they become, when someone sends them an anonymous packet of photographs of their family and loved ones.

Ann doesn't hold herself out to be anything more than that which she is - a professional armchair pundit. She doesn't run for office, doesn't have any power that readers don't give her - she's just a talker and blogger.

Right now, she's out of step and out of touch with the American people and out of step and out of touch with the conservative movement. Once it's recognized that she doesn't really know what's going on in this country, it becomes more clear that there isn't any point in criticizing her.

People should just leave her alone and give her time to get herself together.

Who was the candidate who could have beaten him?

A real existing candidate who was in the race, not some nonexistent fantasy candidate.

Wednesday’s column was very telling, and you can tell Coulter directed it at one person. Mark Levin.

I don't see that at all.

EXACTLY! Plus, the GOP lined up the primaries, made them open, take all, or combo, it was not an election during the primaries, it was coronation. It’s all handled from on high, word goes out, and if you are running against the tide, they smear you and trash you.

Nothing makes me more furious than having to deal with the douchebags in the GOP. no more.

Newt, Perry, even Santorum would have done better.

They all had baggage but at least they would have acted like they cared.

I did something I never thought I would do. I left the GOP over Mitt. I’m tired of the kingmaker games.

The GOP treats conservatives like a date rapist who asks his victim out again and expects the victim to go along with it. I’m tired of dating my rapist.

What ???

If Palin wasn't driven out of the race by the Democrats, the MSM, the establishment, the RINOs and Satan himself( disguised as Karl Rove), she would have run a 50 state landslide against Obama.
The proof of that is that they all united to stop her. SHE WAS THE THREAT to them all.
It was just like the Pharaoh knowing he had to kill Moses as a child because he was a threat. Palin said 'Let my people go'

:)

Gingrich and Santorum may have had more fight in them than Mitt Romney, but I'm not sure they would have done any better than Romney did.

Santorum wasn't going to carry Pennsylvania, probably not Ohio either, and not the Western swing states either. I'm not sure Perry did have more fight in him than Romney did.

Newt had those divorces that soured a lot of people on him. But I do notice that one thing that did Romney in is precisely what people feared about Newt -- off-the-cuff loose-cannon comments.

The "non-existent fantasy candidate" isn't Sarah Palin. It's the latter-day Reagan that people assume is always out there ready to be nominated if it weren't for Dole or McCain or Romney.

But the reason those candidates got nominated is because there wasn't such a new Reagan out there who could beat them.

It's just not the case that because Cain or Keyes or Forbes or Dornan or Hunter may have been as conservative as Reagan that they'd have had his appeal, and any candidate who could possibly win is made to look like a sell-out because of purist fringe candidates.

Palin would have lost by an even larger margin.
