I remember when another Tom, Tom Whitney, ran for governor against Bob Ray. I have a tape of one of his off hand comments about his campaign in eastern Iowa. he said, “If they gave Iowa an enema, it would go in in Clinton.”

LOL, Clinton certainly was and, as far as I know, still would be a top contender for that particular honor.
And, frankly, I wouldn’t be so sure that statement wouldn’t have gained him more votes than it lost. ;^)
