For a start, the line of succession means Charles MUST take the throne. Secondly, you dont know what the Queen thinks. This idea she deliberately wont give him the Crown is gibberish. The Queen wont abdicate simply because the vast majority of monarchs die, they do not abdicate.

If I were a monarch and had a realtively young, competent successor, I’d be out of there... It’s just not work living a life so circumscribed by ritual and tradition. And it cuts cost on the state funeral...
