President Obama and the Democratic Party earned the support of key groups — young people, single women, Latinos, African Americans, auto workers in the Rust Belt and millions of other middle-class Americans — because of our ideas. But mostly because we give them free shit: phones, housing, food, childcare, transportation, cash, etc.

After the GM bailout reduced base pay for new auto workers to save the fat pensions of the old UAW retirees, all of the foregoing are LOWER-class Americans living off of welfare and/or subsidies, Barry's primary demographic.
Rahm is right that this is not a race demographic but it is an economic demographic that aligns predominantly with race and love of Marxist oriented European-style socialism.
They are counting on those of us in harness to keep pulling. I anticipate a growing number of us `Boxers' (the workhorse in Animal Farm, sold for glue) wandering out of the Obama stable and to the north forty to graze.
