Commentary: President Obama 'allegedly' born in U.S., so the story says

News that a small Montana newspaper inserted the word “allegedly” in the midst of an AP news story -- so that it read “Obama was allegedly born in Hawaii” -- caused a small furor Tuesday. But how should we read this latest commentary on the president’s birthright? A) Proof that racism runs rampant in American society.

B) Evidence that "birthers" have infiltrated the ranks of the mainstream media.

C) An instance of precision from journalists, most of whom have been too willing to accept flimsy proof of President Obama’s birthplace.

D) As a window into how bored journalists amuse themselves on deadline.

It would be more fun to vote for one of the more nefarious conclusions, but in fact America can be almost certain that the scribes at the Helena Independent Record don’t really think Obama was reared on the Serengeti.

I’m voting for D).

And that would be the explanation offered in an editor’s note Tuesday — that a copy editor inserted the offending modifier into an otherwise accurate account from Associated Press, “thinking the other copy editor would catch it, [but] he didn’t.” The note added: “It was a poor attempt at humor and a poor decision, but was not intended to be printed in the paper.”

Now that the “election” is over, I believe we’ll see more stories like this as newspapers start to dip their toes in the water — always, of course, with the disclaimer that they were “only kidding” or some such thing. They’re setting up a windsock.

I think you are right on this. If things continue to get worse, they will jump ship and actually critize "the one".

The Diversion Continues.

Even if Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama had been birthed in the Lincoln Bedroom of the White House Obama is NOT a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

HI registrar Alvin Onaka has already disclosed why Obama won’t release the real thing: it’s not legally valid, and the real thing has notation of the late filing and/or alterations that invalidate it. The thing is legally worthless. Obama has no legally-established birth facts, and he cannot “qualify” by Jan 20th as required by the 20th Amendment unless the real document is submitted to a judicial or administrative person or body so that the Federal rules of Evidence can be applied and it can be determined whether the record is credible enough to be probative.

At this point any journalist who DOESN’T use the word “allegedly” is contradicting the legal evidence at this point. The “call on the field” by the HI state registrar is that Hawaii can NOT verify that Obama was born there. If anybody wants to claim that he was, they have to come up with evidence to overturn the presumption of regularity - that Onaka’s letter of verification to AZ SOS Ken Bennett was not accurate when it revealed that Obama’s HI BC is non-valid.

Let the Undocumented Kenyan submit a paper LFBC to a Federal Civilian court or a U.S. military court. He will never, never, ever do it. And there is a reason. Or reasons. What that is, I do not know.I can prove my citizenship in less than 48 hours for less than 20 dollars.

1. Write letter to Department of Health Records in Austin, Texas. This letter would give permission for anyone that wants to examine my birth records permission.
2. Have letter notorized.
3. Fed-Ex letter to Austin.

If I can do this for less than 20 dollars why did Obama spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to not do this!!!!!!!?
