For the employers because they wouldn't have to worry about providing health insurance for their employees and could spend more time focused on their business. We already spend upwards of 18% of GDP on healthcare. What is the difference if that money is spent through private insurers or to a single-payer system? In the former scenario 18% of GDP is spent on healthcare and in the latter scenario 18% of GDP would be spent on healthcare.
