...the electors... will meet on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December. That is when the actual re-election of the president occurs.
According to the 12th Amendment, for the Electoral College to be able to select the president, it must have a quorum of two-thirds of the states voting. If enough states refuse to participate, the Electoral College will not have a quorum... then the responsibility for selecting the president and vice president devolves to the Congress.
The House of Representatives selects the president and the Senate selects the vice president. Since the Republicans hold a majority in the House, presumably they would vote for Mitt Romney...

Santa Claus is already taken by the Dhims, doubtful if Rethuglicans can pull off Candy Man. All that's left is MK Ultra mind control stuff. Maybe too late there also.
What do you suggest while they crash our society into destitution?
Any chance we could approach things seriously?? No wonder Conservatism is in crisis. Unreal.
The former is just as unlikely to happen as the latter.
It was basically a tie in the polls shortly before the election. Romney was in the lead weeks before, then the hurricane hit.
That’s according to idiots, not the Mayan calendar. The calendar has no comment on the matter.
Mitt knew that too, when he arrived off that plane unannounced and thousands were in a parking garage across the way to cheer him, and he put his hand over his heart and said, 'That's how you know you've won'.
America selected Romney, but the Obama machine stole the election from us.
You and other FReepers keep on with your Monday morning quarterbacking, arguing, pointing fingers and wondering how to please blacks and hispanics- what strategy to use in 2016.
2016 will be too late. Obama will have completed his distruction of America by then. All the sob needs is four more years.
We must do something NOW. We The People must scream our heads off until they listen. If we let this farce of an election pass, we're no better than a banana republic.
And we must keep digging and pounding him every day, in every way we can- phony birth certificate, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, his hidden life, records.
The ‘hurricane’ that hit was the criminal Obama machine with voter fraud.
Patriot08 is absolutely correct. It’s time to speak up. The 2012 election fraud can’t be ignored or accepted.
Thank you.
I have worked until I’m exhausted trying to get this point across. I’ve mailed, emailed and phoned.
I cannot understand why FReepers aren’t fired up over this blatant voter fraud- why they’d rather point fingers, blame Romney and argue than fight.
The ‘hurricane’ that hit was the criminal Obama machine that stole the election through voter fraud.
Here’s an interesting idea...
BTTT! (And thank you for putting all this information together for us!)
I see no way that your brilliant master plan could ever conceivably fail.
The way to do it.
1. Close all public schools.
2. Within the next six months, develop a pro-Constitution news media.
simple.
they are also supposed to expect eligibility documentation
FORCE him to submit the now famous birth certificate... then the games are on... as he will have committed felony forgery and attempt to pass the documents off as genuine
if we cannot get this BASIC Constitutionally required ... requirement ... then we might as well just give it up
Excellent Post! A Must Read! Thank you!
I don’t think you’ll find my handle on ANY of the threads you reference about “monday morning quarterbacking”. But your lack of interest in researching that would be of a kind with your embrace of wild and fanciful conspiracy theories.
It does nobody any good to live in a fantasy world. Maybe television has destroyed our country, people are way to easily deceived into believing fiction.
You could add up every imagined fraud thrown out by the WND nuts, the conspiracists, and people who are just too eager to find wrongdoing to actually read headers on spreadsheets, and you wouldn’t come close to the vote totals separating Romney from Obama and victory.
When did supposedly intelligent conservatives start thinking that polls of 1000 people tell you the truth? Not that it matters, because the polls told us that Romney would lose — except of course if you changed the parameters more to your liking. State polls, the only polls that matter in an electoral college election, showed even BEFORE the hurricane that Romney needed a miracle.
Sandy was the anti-miracle. Everything moved in Obama’s direction. The economy wasn’t bad enough, 4 years of media convinced a majority that it was republicans’ fault the economy wasn’t better, Romney had nothing to distinguish himself on foreign policy.
Meanwhile, the democrats have a much easier electorate to turnout, since all they needed to do was sell “rich white man wants to help his rich white buddies”, and they had a sure turnout of poor minority voters, who don’t poll but show up at the polling places.
So long as you view the world from your own perspective, you won’t understand why anybody would vote for Obama, and therefore you will be shocked, and assume it must be fraud. Hang out for a day with the “other side”, and you’ll understand why they loved Obama, why they got better turnout than you could expect, and how they won the election.
Or you can continue to live in an alternative reality where conservatives are a vast majority who only lose elections because they are too stupid to figure out that the other side is cheating. Why you want to elect those stupid people, I don’t know.
In the real world, every candidate who thinks they won will fight tooth and nail to win. That is why they are politicians. This bizarro world where politicians are all so unmotivated that they roll over and play dead in the face of obvious voter fraud doesn’t exist, and it’s sad that anybody who lives in the real world could actually believe otherwise.
Whatever you think of the chances of winning an election in 2014, I can tell you with absolute certainty that you will never win the election of 2012, no matter how many times you post to threads about how the election was stolen. You can file that fantasy away with the fantasy that the courts will save us by finding Obama “ineligible”. (how getting Joe Biden to be President is an improvement is always left unanswered).
It is especially hilarious that you are posting in support of a thread based on a fictional reading of the 12th amendment. Conservatives are supposed to know, understand, and respect the constitution. Having a supposed “news outlet” that can’t pass 5th-grade reading comprehension is hilarious, and watching Freepers who pledge allegiance to that constitution falling for it is just sad.
The Electoral College is not going to save you. Obama will be President, now and for the next 4 years. Go grieve, mourn, rant, do whatever you have to do to get wrapped around that fact. When you are ready to rejoin the adults in constructive conversation, we will still be here, because we have a country to save.
The electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate; The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;the person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, ......... end snip
What part of the underlined do the WND folks not understand? The electors meet in their respective states, vote, transmit the results to the Senate who announces the results to a joint meeting of the House/Senate.
Who in their right mind thinks the 332 elected electors of Obama won't vote for him in their state meetings on December 17, 2012? The 332 is a larger number than 270 which is what is needed for Obama to elected President....
