Rush just said on his radio show that approx. 37% of Californians are actually working (employed or self-employed), and of those only approx. half pay income taxes. So about 18% of the population of California is paying taxes to support the system.
You’re assuming income taxes are the only taxes that support the system. Also how many times in just the last couple of days have I seen posted comments about how the rich will find ways to push the tax increases onto everyone else ergo those people you claim aren’t supporting the system actually are supporting the system through higher prices.
I was still pretty naive when I moved out there, I had no idea that there were people will to admit they wanted the government to rob from people working and give them the money so they didn’t have to work. I had a few frustrating conversations.
