Yes, of course there is that viewpoint.

It’s not going over well.

Check out the bio of the Cure of Ars. All about France giving up on it two centuries ago. It didn’t work out for them.

We can bitch all day re people’s forgetting about God, but our Founding Fathers included Him in the development of the country.

All cannot possibly be lost if we remember that. he can get us out of this, but we have to cooperate and discern that when we do stuff just because everyone else is doing it, as every nine year old knows (used to know), it doesn’t make it less offensive to Him.

I didn't know about the Cure of Ars -- thank you for pointing out that information. I found this on wikipedia
As parish priest, Vianney realized that the Revolution's aftermath had resulted in religious ignorance, due to the destruction of the Catholic Church in France. At the time, Sundays in rural areas were spent working in the fields, or dancing and drinking in taverns. Vianney was astonished, especially since Sundays were meant to be reserved for religion.
