I don’t react that strongly anymore because I remember when I was a dumb 27 year old who thought socialism sounded great and Bill Clinton was way cool with his saxophone. I grew up. Some of them may too. But the best thing I can do to help them is to provide an example of rational adulthood. I’ve had a lot of people stare at me with narrowed eyes for a minute and say “How can you be a Republican? You’re so intelligent and nice.” I say “Perhaps you’ve been misled as to what a Republican is.” I figure I’m planting a seed.
