I keep seeing this, Yet the reason the “Catholic” vote went marginaly for Obama is not because of Catholicism, but in spite of Catholicism - because Latino voters went about 75% for Obama - and they are mostly Catholics.

Whites who call themselves Catholic voted against 'commander zero' 60/40. I would venture to guess that true, Mass going White Catholics that voted for him was in the single digits.

I have dealt with legal and illegal hispanics in 3 states. Though most would call themselves Catholic they are nothing of the sort. They use the Church for what they can get for free, charity and social services. I never met one that knew the first thing about doctrine.
