I'm in.

A candidate running for City council stopped by my home the other day. Nice young man, took his brochure, no mention of Party. First thing I asked: Are you a Republican?

He said yes, and because the question caught him off guard, I have to believe he is telling the truth, will see.

I told him, it is very important for that to be known. Why do they try to hide their best asset?

I live in a small town and a couple of years back, the current mayor, who I didn't know, stopped to talk to me one day about the up coming election for mayor.

I asked him his political party and he told me that local elections aren't connected to parties, so I asked him how he votes in national elections. He finally told me that he was a republican.

He seemed conservative and I told him that I would vote for him. He stopped by another time before the election and I reassured him that he had my vote. In neither visit did he mention his opponent. That should have given me a clue.

Election day, I went to vote, only to find that he was running unopposed.
