This kind of oversight reminds me of the oversight in loans given to all those bankrupt “green” companies.
Meanwhile in Florida, 17 were indicted for filing false income tax returns, and obtaining 350K in refunds, based on stolen IDs. The plot was “uncovered” not by the IRS but by a vigilent credit union employee who became suspicious of a bunch of refund checks being cashed through one account.
