It gets better.. I recently unfriended someone on FB that is in a union. His union has been playing a game with most of their work force.

Get um a gig that lasts at least 15 weeks and 1 day... Then put them back on unemployment. When it’s about to run out, back to work for 15 weeks and a day.

They have been doing this for 4 years and he’s happy to sit on his ass and play xbox..

His gloating on election day was enough for him to get kicked off my friends list.

The unions have scab lists from decades ago that are still referred to in the airline business.

Nonunion workers should be on another list for prospective employers. The striking workers need to be completely shunned.

The Twinkie workers will see their and their families’ quality of life plummet. They will be in for quite a shock.

Mystery Science Theater 300: "Out of the Blue."

A strange little sales promo about an Angel (White) and a devil (Red) who have a bet over a particular bread salesman, on whether he stays a good salesman or can be influenced to do evil (i.e. be lazy and not try to push the bread). ;)

The Teamsters agreed to the cut. The bakers didn’t.

The rules about hostess deliveries have been known for years.

Nothing more to worry. Take your obamaphone, your pension is shot.

it is only 26 weeks of unemployment and the states will have to do job retraining because of the number of employees throughout too many states that the states are now required to do retraining (the tax payers pick up the cost).

due to the nature of the company in bankrupcy the bills owed by the company that result in its liquidation of assets will cause for many people to lose many of the benfits icluding matching funds, healthcare and other benefis that may have not been lost already. Odd there were only 3 plants closed, an additional 30 plants will close.

Yeah, what me worry? I am sure there are 18,500 jobs to easily come by in Rocky Mount...not.

I guess this noodle head thinks all of the nearly 19,000 folks are going to find it easy to find new jobs.

I feel for any conservatives in the bunch, but for the rest... LMAO.

It warms my heart to see those that actually helped vote Obama into office getting consequences.... the more the better.

One more thing, under UNION RULES Twinkies and Wonder Bread could NOT be delivered by the same route!!
***********************************************

I have heard that, but I don't understand that complaint. I know that the snack routes are independent operators, so the company doesn't pay for trucks or gas anyway. The bread routes are the ones that are all company employees with company vehicles.

However, they might be referring to the delivery to the distribution centers instead of the actual delivery to the stores.

My pension isn’t tied to bakers...butchers either and don’t even get me started on the candlestick makers..
You seem to be overly emotional about this. Were you in middle management with Hostess?

“”My same source said Massachusetts pays the most - anyone have a link to the amounts, state by state?””

Good question. You can google each state I suppose. The state maximum benefit in Massachusetts, effective October 7, 2012, is $674 per week..

I had thought that CA had the highest which is $450/per week...max benefit. I would be surprised if any state could beat MA.

why not start up with the same products (they OWN those trademarks, correct?) under a slightly different name as a NON-Union shop? I would, but then, I’m kinda vindictive that way, LOL!

The creditors of the company might have something to say about that....

Someone will buy those trademarks from the bankruptcy court and continue making Twinkies (and no doubt it will be in a non-union shop) but it won't be the present corporation or any of its owners.

Per the article, “...the state will have to decide if the former Hostess workers qualify for unemployment benefits. “

If they get even one nickel of benefits the governor should be recalled.

“Our plan is to find another job. We have unemployment, but nobody wants unemployment without the health benefits. So, we’re pretty much going to find another job.”

And that, my friends, is why welfare reform works.
