Nov 16 (Reuters) - Iran is ready to sharply expand its uranium enrichment in an underground site after installing all the centrifuges it was built for, a U.N. nuclear report showed on Friday, a development likely to fuel Western alarm over Tehran's nuclear aims.

The Islamic state has put in place nearly 2,800 centrifuges that the Fordow enrichment site, buried deep inside a mountain, was designed for and could soon double the number of them operating to almost 1,400, according to the confidential International Atomic Energy Agency report obtained by Reuters.

Tehran has produced about 233 kg (512 pounds) of higher-grade enriched uranium since 2010, an increase of 43 kg since August this year, according to the report issued in Vienna.

Maybe now that Obama is re-elected, Iran will thumb its nose at the west.

Gee-—and right before Obam was elected they were making a deal to cut back.

I guess they figure with Obama elected now they can do most anything they like.

And they are right.

Im sure Obama is cheering on Irans nuclear development as well as sending back channel messagaes to Egypt to lend Hamas a helping hand against Israel. Obama could care less if Israel, or America for that fact, are wiped out.

Let me see if I have this straight. 2800 x 2 = 1400.

The Iranian capacity (max) is 2800.

They have 700 in operation (if the numbers are right).

That means they will double this to 1400, and still have the capacity to double this again to 2800.

Iran has hundreds of kilograms of nuclear fuel. I imagine they could make quite a few bombs if they go into mass production.

But I am a Physicist.
