Obviously the election entered into the calculation. An attack by Al Qaeda just two weeks after Obama had loudly proclaimed its death, had to be embarrassing. That Obama was still using the cover story two weeks afterwards at the UN was no more than pandering, which is part of his Middle East policy. With the situation heating up in Syria and in Israel, even a public oblivious to anything unpleasant about this man may get a chance to see him in “action. Why people are attracted to a man of so little natural warmth escapes me.
