I’ve been wondering over the past week: what would have happened if Romney buses/vans had been taken to Catholic Churches over the pre-election Sundays to drive parishioners to the polls?

At RC Churches in this area (Northern Virginia), a letter from the Bishop was read at Masses the weekend before the election, but it was not bold and clear. It alluded to moral values, abortion, etc., but never came out and said one candidate was virulently pro-abortion and the other was opposed. Nor did it go into the electoral consequences for Obamacare and the assault on religious freedoms. “Under-informed voters” would have had NO CLUE what the Bishop was even talking about. Like the GOP the Bishop assumed these voters were intelligent enough to know what he was talking about.

Our Bishop made no bones about it, and neither did our parish priests, (Diocese of St. Augustine). They don’t come out and tell you who to vote for, but it’s obvious. They made lots of statements about the HHS mandate, had signs up. For a couple weeks before the election, our parish had a banner up “Don’t Vote Like a Pagan!”
