I believe that Unions are needed for this very thing, that is, companies such as Walmart who do not take care of their bottom feeder employees. I have been to the walmart HQ in NW Arkansas. These people bust their ass to make $40K a year and the Walmart middle management is atrocious. It’s truly an unfair working environment. Did you know that Walmart will not do business with a vendor unless they place an office in NW Arkansas? Yup, its true. You better get a Regus office if you want Walmat to talk to ya. I would take Dennis Millers advise and go on the dole if your busting your ass for $40K a year. It’s not worth it. You can make that and more sitting at home reading a book.

If you believe that companies exist for the purpose of taking care of “bottom feeder employees”, why don't you fork over some capital and start one? When you do, I'm sure you'll love it when your employees benevolently tell you how to run it and they'll eventually decide what they'd like to do during their “work day”.
Let me know how that works out for you.

Oh my gosh, so silly. My son works for Walmart while going through college. It is a menial job. He understands that. You go into work, do what you are told, and get a paycheck. He gets quarterly bonuses. This year it will be close to $1200 extra he has made in bonuses. For shoving product on a shelf. Seriously.

He gets 10% off general merchandise year round, and during the holidays, he gets 10% off groceries also. This year, as an addition, employees get 20% off one shopping trip. And his insurance is less than mine, full coverage.

These horror stories about how Walmart treats employees are bogus. Society needs to keep in mind that this is a minimum wage job for a reason (and he makes much more than minimum wage), it requires no appreciable skills.

I listen to Dennis Miller nearly every day he is on the air, and I've never heard him say that . . . his mantra is, "help the helpless, screw the clueless."

Baloney. Unions are NOT needed for Walmart. Sam Walton Jr. can go to hell for voting for Obama. I mena that. However, if folks don't like the company, then they can just go work elsewhere.
