Well Romney couldn’t beat McCain in the previous primaries and he wound up the nominee the next time. The GOP isn’t called the stupid party for nothing.

Like that "stupid" Ronald Reagan who lost the primary in 1976 before winning in 1980?

The GOP was stupid to nominate Mitt Romney. It had nothing to do with how he did in the previous primary. It had everything to do with him neither being able to connect to the party's base nor to independents who look for "likability." The GOP sheeple listened to the party bosses and their media propaganda arms Drudge and FOX and nominated a big blue blood beltway bomb of a candidate.

Santorum probably would've won, especially since he could've made Obamacare an issue instead of mainly talking about how he was going to "keep the good parts" of it.

Santorum's biggest problem is him not having a great speaking ability, stuttering a bit. I hope he can work on that. He truly can connect to voters emotionally and as we saw this election, that is just about ALL that matters to the swing voters that decide these things.

Santorum’s real problem is that like many social conservatives. He doesn’t want a smaller, less intrusive government, he just wants one that will advocate on behalf of the things he wants.

I agree. I was very much for Santorum over Romney, but next time around Santorum will be seen as far too conservative. We know he'd be fine, but the GOP elite will want to go with another squishy moderate. Hopefully more people have wised up to this failed tactic.

"Santorum probably would've won,...

The only thing Santorum would have won is about 30% of the vote. O.K....35 tops.
