A lot of food for thought here regarding an election we should have won - in fact maybe we did but not by enough to counteract the fraud.

Totally agree with her observation that in the shabbiest, most derelict parts of town there is no shortage of gas-guzzing $60,000 dollar vehicles.

Absolutely Spot-On. This says it all:

” how inept the party is in getting their message out where it belongs.”

I’m not going to defent Michael Steele. I’m not even going to defend the Republican Party as the bearer of the conservative banner, because they’re not very good at it, nor very willing to improve.

But I’m not sure that we should dump the RNC and starting a 3rd party that will probably take a decade or more to become a real factor either. The conservative message is the right one. Not all of what the R party puts out is conservative. Our dilemma is: can we reform the Republican party and platform?

Every advertising or sales expert from Madison Avenue to main street will tell you that no amount of money can convince people to buy a bad product. The Democrats did what it took year-round, 24/7 to convince their people that Barack Obama was a great product. The RNC staged a circular firing squad for a year and then put forth a candidate that failed to excite the base and dropped the GOTV ball on election day. Now the party has gone into exile.

It really shouldn’t be hard to do better.

Well said Miss Colon.

I talked to a friend this morning who personally witnessed several buses of different minorities coming in to vote at his precinct. Maybe it was legal and they were legitimate voters. I don’t know. It’s suspicious at the least.

Exactly! We would have won had it not been for the fraud.

Abortion: Roe v Wade was a bad bill. The entire case was built on lies. Just ask Jane Roe (Norma McCovey). Overturning it would not restrict abortion but return it to the states. Pro-life candidates should say this and just shut up.

The problem with this is that it is not an argument about federalism. It is about abortion and returning it to the states is merely a way to get half a loaf while it is impossible to get the full loaf. If the shoes were on the other feet and abortion was illegal nationally, the Democrats would be fighting for states rights on this issue to try to legalize it in a few states while the Republicans would be saying that the right to life is too important to let the states handle it.

Immigration: Quit obsessing about the illegal immigrants already here and the word amnesty. ... What we don't want is giving illegals food stamps, health care, SSI, social security and disability benefits that only legal citizens and immigrants should receive. Charities should be allowed to tend to their basic needs without penalties. Secure our borders and reform our immigration system to accept worthy applicants and deny those from hostile nations. I use the word "illegals" because it is accurate. Calling them "undocumented" is political correctness gone stupid.

Get rid of the immigration lottery system and focus on well qualified immigrants. We've accepted far more than enough of the world's "wretched refuse". I would rather focus on German engineers, Indian doctors and even Chinese math professors than yet another Mexican lawn mower or Guatemalan maid. Next, don't be suckered yet again by granting amnesty now for a promise of getting border control later. Control the border now, shut down illegal immigration for maybe ten years, and then we can consider what to do with illegals still here.

I have never seen a Republican candidate campaign in my neck of the woods. They do not visit the local public schools or churches but the Democrats do but only in an election year. When I lived in Spanish Harlem, I saw many Democrat social clubs but not one Republican one. The GOP will never get minorities to vote in large numbers for them even though their policies would benefit their lives.
Are you volunteering???

How much more “straight from the horse’s mouth” can you get?

When will folks in this forum learn?

This lady ought to be in politics. I’d rather have her as Speaker of the House right now than John Boehner. She’d probably be more effective!

Republicans (including many conservatives) are not going to win national elections until the economic situation gets much worse than it is today.

The message that "people need to educate themselves, work hard, save for their future, and educate their children to do the same" is simply not believed. For some liberals, this message will NEVER be believed.

There is a sizeable population, however, who can be convinced. These are the people who will choose hard work over starvation when those are the only choices. Only when it becomes obvious that these are the only choices, will those people begin to vote differently.

Can somebody point me to a good place to buy 90% silver coins? One place I called told me that their delivery time is about eight weeks. I don't want to wait that long. We may not have that long.
