My impression is that this is nothing but a name only honor. I don’t think she had any actual diplomatic function officially. Did she?
I thought the base gave her a pseudo fake status position so she could attend functions without trouble.
Is it more than that, in truth, or was she milking the fake status for all it was worth making contacts here and there?
It's only honorary - lets you get on the base,etc. But she bragged about it & flaunted it..made her feel like a big player.
She & her husband even bought their car license plates with the name Embassy Counel. She has no real standing except pass priveleges & whatever else she can milk out of it. She always flaunted the fact that Petraeus was her friend & helped her get this 'title'.
They did put on a big show, though - owed millions & their home is in default for 2 years.
