Welcome to the Rand Paul evolution

In an interview with POLITICO, Paul said he’ll return to Congress this week pushing measures long avoided by his party. He wants to work with liberal Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy and Republicans to eliminate mandatory minimum sentences for pot possession. He wants to carve a compromise immigration plan with an “eventual path” to citizenship for illegal immigrants, a proposal he believes could be palatable to conservatives. And he believes his ideas — along with pushing for less U.S. military intervention in conflicts overseas — could help the GOP broaden its tent and appeal to crucial voting blocs that handed Democrats big wins in the West Coast, the Northeast and along the Great Lakes.

Illustrating absurdity with absurdity.
But in 1848 it was a possibility.

How about a pathway back to Mexico, along with anyone who doesn’t like it?
I don’t see ratifying a foreign invasion.

“Your attempt to turn this into a racial issue just shows your own bigotry.”

Whenever the discussion is about how to get 40% of the Hispanic vote or 20% of the Black vote, it is already a racial issue. And if you only get 50% of the “White” vote, guess what, you have pandered your principles and still lost.

I suggest that a more productive approach would be what Democrats do, which is racist against Whites which they divide and conquer, in reverse and find a way to 70% or 80% of the White vote. Whites were still 72% of voters. 70% of 72% would have been 50.4% of the vote.

Then you send the illegals and their “legal” descendants back to Mexico and the rest of liberalism to Canada and get back to the business of business (”The business of America is business.” Calvin Coolidge) and ruling the world, whatever anybody else who is too stupid to think thinks.

Yes, I am.

Sorry to hear that, but I will still defend you when the time comes.

Well, he should forget about pushing the drugs, the sodomy and the aliens.

I do not disagree.

Economic Collapse?
Rising inflation?

The immigration system we currently have is not functional. We do need continual immigrants entering our borders but there has to be a limit to what we can absorb. Our current problem is that it’s decided by neither the Mexican government or our government. There is a heck of a lot of room for improvement.

Thank you.

Republican insiders are already bringing out the long knives on Rand Paul. They’ll ignore our disastrous fiscal mess (that they helped build) and focus on relatively minor things like pot decriminalization.
