Broadwell served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve. She was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Reserves in August 2012.

That is the new Army Class A uniform. The semi-dress greens have been discontinued and now the more formal blues are the dress uniform. White shirt, Blue pants w/ gold stripe down the side And Dark blue blouse jacket.
