However, my search regarding this ship indicates it was built in 1884. I’m not finding any further information that indicates why this is in error.

I am not an expert on any subject in this thread, but I have read a lot of history of all kinds, and know that ship names from ancient history to the present, have always been recycled.

Nothing really unusual about two ships with the same name 200 years apart.
