ABOARD A U.S. MILITARY AIRCRAFT — The FBI probe into the sex scandal that led to the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced early Tuesday.
According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of “potentially inappropriate” emails between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close friendship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall. Allen, a Marine, succeeded Petraeus as the top allied commander in Afghanistan in July 2011.
The FBI first notified the Pentagon of its investigation into Allen’s communications with Kelley on Sunday evening, according to the senior defense official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of the ongoing case.
In response, Pentagon chief Leon E. Panetta referred the investigation to the Defense Department’s Inspector General for further review, according to a statement released by Panetta early Tuesday as he was traveling to Australia.
The latest development in the unfolding scandal has shaken President Obama’s national-security staff and upended his carefully chosen plans for his military and intelligence team in his second term.
It also further calls into question the personal behavior of two of the U.S. military’s highest-ranking and most respected figures, who apparently ignored concerns about the highly sensitive nature of their jobs as they embraced personal relationships with younger women who were not their wives.

In his statement, Panetta said Allen would remain as commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan for now, “while the matter is under investigation and before the facts are determined.”

This is exactly the sort of idiocy and ignorance that gives conservatives a really bad name. Did you know that there are a lot of Lebanese christians living in the US, and that before the ME blew up so many decades ago it was a beautiful country. Her mother is a cook. Do you know how good Lebanese food is. One thing that I will thank waves of immigration for is decent food and not the slop brought here by our English, Irish and German forbearers (good beer and whisky excepted and even that had to come from the host countries).
Note that there is sex scandal at DHS, yet we have heard nothing of it anymore... The GOP lost Congress in 2006 due to sex scandals, yet we have more here in the Regime then we did then in the GOP.

This whole mess makes little sense to me. Why wasn’t Petreaus removed as soon as the affair came to light? What’s with the Friday afternoon “news dump” three days after the election? Kelly, the other other woman is a party planner for Joint Special Operations Command? Interesting. Why didn’t Petreaus simply “resign/retire to spend more time with his family”?
Years ago, in my corporate life, I rotated back into the office from four years of being on construction sites, in a trailer.
I was promoted and given charge of an interior design division, consisting of ten women and two men.They were trouble, and I had a reputation as a problem solver, so the execs asked me to get that group in working order.
Four of the women thought each of them were going to be promoted to be new director. When I was promoted and brought in over them, even though I had a terrific working relationship in the past with each of them on projects all over the country, the claws came out for little ole me.
One thing I always did, because Billy Graham did it. When I met with a female subordinate or visitor to my office, the door was never closed. Even if there confidential discussions, the door always stayed ajar so someone could see in. I also asked my female secretary to “check-in” on me every so often, as she knew the long knives were out for me.
Out in the field, it was mostly men working on a site. Here, the game was different.I could write a book about it, but I survived, and the division performed well. This was in the very early 1990s, when sexual harassment cases were new to the corporate world.
After two years in that position, I went into facilities management, and enjoyed that far more.

I saw something on Inside Edition last night about these two women. The first thing that came to mind? They’re in on it together... And that they’re pawns in a bigger game we have yet to see.

There are 2 women and 2 generals. They apparently all know one another, but there are 4 people involved, not 3.
The Kelley woman is the one who complained to the FBI about threatening e-mails that Broadwell sent to her. The FBI investigated and now says it has improper e-mails between Kelley and the second general.

This is the leadership of the current US military. In it for the next promotion and a bunch of whore chasers. They screw the troops and get their gain in promotion over the bodies and blood of the troops. I am so glad that I am no longer in the military. I would have been court-martialed by now for opening my big mouth. These idiots kill our troops, the US government is included in this rant. I tell any and all young people who even have a thought about going in the military now not too. Find a real job. Because all these fools are going to do is use you up, kill you and then in the end, if you survive, forget you exist. They cut cut cut veterans benefits, paid for by blood and honor, and give free stinking phones to a bunch of sit on their lazy butt ass kissers like Obama’s gang. I am sick of the whole mess. I simply pray every day that the Good Lord will come and call the church home, then deal with these people. They are nonrepenant and love to do garbage. One day, they are going to find out the true price of their actions.
