It wouldn’t have mattered if Prop. 30 had lost. More Democrats were elected, so they now control a supermajority in both chambers of the Legislature. That means if Prop. 30 had lost, they would have just increased taxes anyhow since the Republicans can’t stop them any more. That Prop. 30 passed might actually be a good thing in that regard, as my guess is they would have increased taxes even more than Prop. 30 did. Now if they come back and say they are going to raise taxes again, the people can make a fuss and say no, we already raised taxes with Prop. 30.

Not yet. There are two assembly races still too close to call as of today (11/11/12).

Speaking of which, today is the real Veteran's Day. Thanks to all who serve and served.
