People are fools you do not put power up in a few days..union or non union....In Florida it took just as long ...You need to figure on two week minimum in storms like this..It is probably much harder up there the equipment is older
We lived 50 miles north of Houston and after hurricane Ike we were without power for 17 days. No one protested. Fortunately we did not have to endure the cold. We always endured the heat after a hurricane.
You don't have to tell me that, my daughter was 21 days old when Hugo came through SC and we did not have power for 4 weeks! Thank God for breastfeeding and for the angels who hiked along roads closed by fallen trees to bring me a 6 month supply of diapers. My husband and his brother were out from day one, helping elderly neighbors and clearing the roads. We NEVER turned down any offer of help! I doubt the people of NY would do it either, it was a shock to hear that the unions turned down help.
