You’re exactly right. He’s now a civilian, a former CIA employee, and anything he can say has to be cleared by the Agency first.

Why? Petraeus would be appearing before a closed door hearing. Don’t the members of Congress have Top Secret clearance? Why don’t they subpoena the 2 generals who were fired for allegedly resisting the order to stand down?
