Your post #16 was right; but so was #14.
About 1/3 of New Yorkers are conservative [including me] and there is no damned reason we should pick up and leave our homes and families because the Democrats are in charge. I've got a job, a home, live in the town I grew up in and love, and don't want to leave.
Silly, smug FReepers sitting in their red states should know better than to gloat and laugh at others living in cold and darkness. It's stupid and downright childish.
Even Mr. Robinson, as I understand it, lives in California and suffers from the same liberal insanity we do here. Are you going to sit, point fingers, and tell him he deserves what he gets because a majority of Californians are liberals?
The tone around here is getting really ugly, um, "lol."
What a said in that post was "Elections and choices have consequences".....
Now was that a cause for this "SILLY" temper tantrum you just posted?
There are PLENTY of disaster's here in the midwest. We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get back on the horse. (that means, get back to business as usual with no compaining).
FEMA has been denied here many times due to this adminstration and the fact that we are in a "SMUG, RED STATE"........hip hip for SMUG, RED STATES.
But hey, your more than welcome to come and join us, just watch out for those DEADLY tornadoes, snow wind & ice storms., those ones that we have PLENTY of time to prepare for. Wide open spaces here, come on down, we don't bite.
Nobody’s “silly, smug” and “stupid” and “childish”— except maybe your projections. You have my sympathies that you are conservative surrounded by Communists, but that doesn’t mean you should call FReepers names.
Those who were “silly” and “stupid” were those who failed to prepare, then whine to Big Brother/Sister. I’ve never seen such a batch of sniveling ninnies with their hands out to the police-nanny state.
I grew up in earthquake country - where we had zero warning, other than perhaps pets acting up. The Loma Prieta 1989 earthquake got a part of San Francisco. Anyone who lived there knew they were taking a risk -— that the neighborhood was built on a landfill. Tradeoffs in life meant that many continued to live there, knowing full well what could happen. Even in that (albeit back then, not as much) liberal city, there wasn’t such an outcry. People picked themselves up, dusted themselves off, and started all over.
Thanks to the whiners with their hands out, we will have even more surveillance and nanny-dom. FEMA — which isn’t about helping people at all — will become even more powerful. The conservative states can thank those snivelers in the future.
