I HATE HOW RUDE SOME ON FR ARE BECOMING TOWARDS THOSE SUFFERING FROM DISASTERS AND IF THE STATE/CITY IS FOR THE OTHER SIDE THE FEELING IS: “SCREW THEM AND THE DISASTER SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.” SICKENING OF THOSE ON FR THAT POST SUCH POSTS.
Just feel they are suffering from natural disaster and big government’s corruption and misguidance.
Some @sshole NYC radio host today spent about 20 minutes at the start of his show ranting about how long it's taken to get his cable television back on.
Damn right we're going to say: "'Eff them."
I disagree. These people turned away assistance, voted for big government and then whine when they don’t have free assistance. When they decided to shelter in place they should have been prepared, if they chose to evacuate, they should have prepared. I live in earthquake country. We don’t have the luxury of knowing ahead of time when our disaster will strike, these people had a week or more. To those people who lost their homes to fire, I do have some compassion. I had to evacuate my home once to wildfires here in SoCal. I had a few hours to plan. But plan we did and we HAD to leave. You have to be ready for anything and plan accordingly.
People are just venting right now. It’s actually been far less toxic than I thought it would be.
From a distance, one of the main obstacles to getting things up and running appears to be turning away non-union electrical workers.
FEMA is not an electric company. They are not supposed to be a first responder. FEMA was traditionally supposed to be a checkbook to go in after the first responders and help pay for things. The media frenzy after Katrina - fueled as much by anti-Bush sentiment as the storm - led to ridiculous expectations of Uncle Sugar. FEMA has become the face for big government.
