Felt it strong here about 20 mi. west of Knoxville, TN.

When we moved from CA, we thought that would be the end of earthquakes.

You felt it like me because you are near the Cumberland Mountains. Roosevelt Mountain likely very near you if you are 20 miles west of Knoxville. I'm southwest of the quake so I would get it because mountains & ridges in East Tennessee run Northeast by southwest.

East Tennessee does have small quakes from time to time. This was a big one of such. Be very thankful you moved east of the Cumberland Plateau. There's a huge fault line at Memphis.

Epicenter nearby Carr Folk Lake Dam on the Sassafras Crik. Hope those folks downstream doublecheck their routes of egress.
