New York - Mitt Romney's sister Jane has come to the defense of her younger brother slamming media over the way they had treated the Republican Presidential contender, and blaming them for making him lose the White House race.
Jane, the eldest Romney sister, told Inside Edition about how she felt the media "vilified" Mitt after it was reported that he traveled with Seamus, the family dog, strapped to the roof of their car.
"He was my dog...It's a crate. That's how they travel. Here's the deal. All these stupid little stories are fabricated and it hurt," the New York Daily News quoted her, as saying.
Jane, 75, also said that Mitt's wife, Ann, has not been taking the loss particularly well.
"She was crying. She was very emotional. For Ann, it was definitely shell-shock," she said.
"She won't want to be in a race like this again," she added.
According to the paper, Jane explained what she thinks went wrong with the campaign, and blamed her own family for not doing enough to help him secure a win.
"I feel like our family could have helped more. But we were scared we'd be on the 6 p.m. news, misspeaking," she added.
The media and the Obama campaign are the same damn thing. Get used to it.

She’s right about one thing. Any thing said by any member of his family would have been blown out of proportion, so they had to be careful what they did or didn’t say.

Romney held his fire during the summer rather than hit back hard. he should have carried the fight to the enemy by hitting at Obama personally. Ridicule might have worked. Picture of Obama in hat smoking pot should have been spread around.
Conservatives need our own media broadcasting to the masses. Talk radio is good; they sing to the choir and strengthen the base. So much money is raised for the campaigns, how about a billion or two to start media outlets too?

The dems basically admitted that last summer..it’s done...blame whoever you like..tho the candidate was the problem the most..Not conservatism. His team and Ann Coulter need to go away...Her retard remark brought out all of south Florida...and hurt West, too.

I think Romney’s campaign met finance problem during summer. Internal fighting cost him too much.
She is lying about the dog.
People do not strap their dog in a kennel on the roof of a car and drive cross country for 12 hours, stopping part way after the dog is made sick, merely to hose down the car, the kennel cage, and the dog himself, and then hitting the Interstate again with the dog wet and ill.
The Romneys did not even keep the dog afterward, there are two versions of how the dog disappeared after this abuse, one is that it was sent to live with this sister, the other is that it ran off when they arrived in Canada after 12 horrible hours.

The woman was lying and the story needed fleshing out, this is not a new story to freepers, we have researched it and commented on it for many years.
I used to like Ann Coulter, until she started blabbering about Christie and also when she gave a speech for gays/lesbians. Lately, I’ve just noticed how she constantly flips her hair when she talks. I think she is a fake, a female version of the shock jock - Howard Stern.
Its all about the money and selling her books. She should never have used the word retard. However, nothing any of the Dems say hurt them nor do they get identified with the ones who say stupid things. It doesn’t seem to hurt their brand.
Who was lying? Mitt’s sister? No, the story didn’t need fleshing - this happened in 1984. God, give it a rest.
