A KPIX news cameraman was punched and robbed during a live broadcast outside an Oakland high school, the latest in a spate of holdups targeting the media, police said Thursday. Reporter Anne Makovec and cameraman Gregg Welk were on the air shortly after noon Wednesday outside Oakland Technical High School near the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway. They were at the school to do a story on the passage of Proposition 30, the tax measure preventing deep cuts to education. As Makovec was finishing her report, police said, five men rushed up and grabbed a $6,000 camera from the tripod. Viewers saw the live picture being jarred and turned sideways for about two seconds.

Tell me they punched the reporter too.
To me, this is justice
How many times has the Media sided with the same type of thugs that took this guy’s camera?
How many times have they glorified the crimes like this as “Evening the playing field”?
How many times have they attacked police officers when they had to exert some type of force to arrest thugs like this?

Wow...that’s right down the street. And that’s not a neighborhood where you expect something like this. It isn’t the best neighborhood, but far from the worst.
“Free stuff! Free stuff!!! Obamaphone, omabacamera”
Redistributing the wealth. Paying their fair share.
Etc.
Elections have consequences.
I wonder how much they could fence that camera for, or if they could fence it at all. It’s pretty specialized.
One of the assailants punched Welk in the mouth before the group fled in a Mercedes-Benz, which apparently was accompanied by a Lexus, police said. Welk declined treatment by paramedics but saw his doctor.

Let me guess, Holder’s people?
CA is our Greece. Go 10 miles from the uber lovely, calm, wealthy coast and CA is falling apart.
Now add the fact that “services” are being cut.
Obamaphone peeps don't LIKE WHEN THEIR SERVICES ARE CUT.
Oakland is a cess pool. I was accosted at the Bart station by 5 different thugs within a 2 minute period. I was scared for my life (I'm a woman and weigh 110 lbs on a good day) and these animals were coming up to me taking the cash out of my hands, running the game: this is how you put it in the ticket machine. It really was just horrible...no police...you could tell that they have effectively turned it over to these scumbags.
I've thought for a long while now that when CA crumbles (and it surely is going to—soon) Oakland will be the start of some over the top riots.
I thought it would take a bit of time for Obama to be exposed, as he certainly will be, media or not—that the race wars would be his last corner—but now....well, as Mark Steyn so brilliantly wrote in his last book...decline happens very quickly....It might be starting now.
Be careful everyone....I think we have officially gone over the cliff.
It must’ve been RACISM and the rich and 8 years of Bushmonster that made these people steal.
Almost a deja-vu to the Crown Heights riots. Good thing there aren’t many phone booths left or he might have ended up like Jimmy Breslin....in his drawers calling 911.
“Late one night in June, a KTVU news crew was robbed of a computer, camera and tripod by several men who pushed their way into their van parked on Redwood Road in the Oakland hills.”
OK, this is a nice neighborhood. This sounds like a very organized gang, not some smash & grab. I’m thinking white guys and I’m thinking these cameras are going overseas.
Even when its live on the air I don’t believe anything I see or hear on the DBM.
If you still “live” in Californicate, I hope you are planning your escape. Your status of “live” could change very quickly.
Your carry permit was issued in 1791.
Use it.
I love a happy story like this, media beatdown, details at 10.
