I was always taught that God’s judgement was individual. That there was no collective judgement or punishment. And that God’s judgement is reserved for eternity not our mortal existence.
God not only curses and blesses individually, he also judges collectively.
Look at Sodom and Gomorrah.

Generally, when God disciplines a nation, He disciplines the believers, not the unbelievers.
