He will have to testify if subpoenaed. He can take the 5th if he doesn't want to lie anymore. I guess the White House claim National Security or whatever they claim, but this hearing is already behind closed doors and those senators already have top clearance, right?

McCain sure came out quickly with his praise of Gen. P ..... And the decision to not have him testify could be a trade off deal he made with mccain and company in return for the information “under the table”.... He said he went to the president and resigned yesterday, but i bet he struck a deal with mccain before that....

i’m not sure i’m getting exactly what you mean by that, but is it that as cia chief obama can claim he cannot testify because of national security or executive privelage, but now he can testify?
