I'm of another mind, Carlo. I want all Republican Congresscritters and Senators to vote 'Present' on ALL legislation - EVERYTHING, that's proposed by the Demoncrats from now until the 2014 elections, if we have any elections, that is.

By doing this, debt will explode, and our world-wide-system will collapse into a world-wide Depression.
If we just try to shut down the gummint by not voting for the funds that they need to stay on course into our oblivion, we cut off SS checks, Veterans Benefits, etc, and the $hit still hits the fan in a year or so anyway.

We are both saying the same thing Gonz, but yours, although a much less dramatic, may come later than a couple of years of borrowing and imbedded restrictions, it may become unrecoverable.. As the Left is spending us into the abyss, the general public will be getting more and more perks, that once introduced, become irremovable..
I don’t disagree with you, I’ve got a few apprehensions about allowing this gang to find ways of digging us so deep into the financial, and restrictive holes as the public feeling things are working fine, it may be too late..
Ok, let me give you an example of why I am so dug in with my paranoia.. In the early 70’s when I was just trotting along with a fast growing business, I tried to introduce a bonus plan for my employees..
At the time we were still small enough that all of my locations were local, meaning in Texas, most in Houston, so we held an annual meeting.. At one of the meeting I asked if the group wanted an annual bonus, dependent on profits, or a tenured raise.. I explained that we had planned expansions and that would bring in much more revenue, but major expenses, and RISKS..
The vote was almost unanimous, except for the accounting dept.. They chose the BONUSES.. Well, bring on Carter, and gas lines, and high interest rates and slower economy, so the bonuses were reduced to a fraction of the past.. They almost walked off the job, and none of them were happy..
I discovered that once you give someone a gift, and they learn to expect it, even though you can no longer afford it you can’t ever take it back.. NEVER!
Those that were disgruntled kept everyone stirred up until they left or were fired.. None of them improved their position by leaving, and they didn’t appreciate my position until they worked elsewhere.. I hated to fire so many, but it kept the company viable for 20 more years until I retired..
After that fiasco, I always did what was the more prudent method to set financial as well as payroll decisions..
