Now the effects we saw at the state level are even more pronounced: the red areas appear overwhelmingly in the majority, an appearance again at odds with the actual results of the election. Again, we can make a more helpful respresentation by using a cartogram. Here is what the cartogram looks like for the county-level election returns:
One way to improve the map and reveal more nuance in the vote is to use not just two colors, red and blue, but to use red, blue, and shades of purple in between to indicate percentages of votes. Here is what the normal map looks like if you do this:

This one, at another site, is interesting. It shows (if I'm reading this correctly) a weak shift towards the Republican party from 2008 to 2012 in the Presidential election:

Our votes WERE stolen. I don't believe for a moment that more people turned toward Obama. No way, no how.
Here is a comparison map I did from 2008 to 2012

Don't be surprised. The US 2 party electoral process has been screwed for 30 years. Its like if the NFL aka the owners(the major banks) only have 2 teams. The fans cheer and yell for their favorite teams and the owners take home the advertisement/drink/food revenues.
Think SCYTL or any type of electronic voting. The pundits both “conservative” or “liberal” only serve themselves and their masters. No matter what “party” gets in nothing changes.

I've not yet found a map of congressional district results. That is where the real story can be told. Looking at this
breakdown of Florida it is easy to see that the winner take all process of awarding electoral votes favors democrats and will continue tom do so. In Florida, Romney would have gotten 17 electoral votes instead of none if they used the same method as Nebraska and Maine.

Not sure how accurate these maps are I posted. The ones I found after 2000 are from a site using Princeton’s maps. So I found another site with a little different results. But I those seemed better. Just not 100% sure.
