EAST CARBON, Carbon County A Utah coal company owned by a vocal critic of President Barack Obama has laid off 102 miners.
The layoffs at the West Ridge Mine are effective immediately, according to UtahAmerican Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Murray Energy Corp. They were announced in a short statement made public Thursday, two days after Obama won re-election.
The layoffs are necessary because of the president's "war on coal," the statement said. The slogan is one used frequently during the election by Murray Energy CEO Robert Murray, who was an ardent supporter of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
In its statement, UtahAmerican Energy blames the Obama administration for instituting policies that will close down "204 American coal-fired power plants by 2014" and for drastically reducing the market for coal.

As painful as the next four years will be, it is encouraging to see multiple companies publicly linking the election to consequences. This may what it takes to get some to wake up. Who knows, this could convert some libs into conservative monsters like we see immigrate from the former Soviet block.
We’ll probably have, on a permanent basis, what they are having in the NE. Gas rationing, blackouts, obvious corruption. And all this time, idiots like Christie will be trying to hump 0’s leg.
I haven't seen any news yet of layoffs at Chick-fil-A!
And so it begins.
Thanks very much “takers.”
Soon there will be no money to take from the wage earners.
Yes...I can’t wait until my electric bill becomes so high that I won’t be able to afford food.
How many of those laid off voted for Obama.
You know what, I think you hit upon a very good idea. It would be good if the term “takers” was used now in every day conversation on the blogs. That’s the only way to really describe Obama and his followers now.
I urge everyone to relax. Soon will come Directive 10-289 and the nationwide UNIFICATION BOARDS to protect and secure everyone’s jobs. I can hardly wait.
Time to start the re-read of Atlas.
I doubt very many.
Al Gore ought to be happy. Closing down all coal mines is what the tree huggers want. They should be the last to complain if less coal is going to be mined.
A lot more tahn just a few companies are doing layoffs, its all across America from coast to coast, from sea to shining see, in cities and in the heartland.
They will get mad now the takers, they will get Obama behind them with new anti-layoff laws, they will now have the FBI along with them and they will just take what they want and then auction it off.
The liberals just cannot see past the fog of their addictive daily misery to predict the course of their actions.
December 22th may actually be a true end of days prediction, perhaps the Mayans had seen that Obama was going to continue his destruction upon America?
It’s Utah. Probably not very many voted for Obama. Since it’s a red state, Obama couldn’t care less. But when this starts happening in the swing states, then we’re going to be staring down the barrel of another union bailout.
I believe we are going to see what would have happened to the U.S. if Jimmy Carter was reelected. THEY SHOULD HAVE WATCHED 2016!!
I like the term "parasites" better.
I just can’t get HTML to cooperate. Could somebody cue a pic of Mr. Burns... I think he is VERY appropriate for this thread.
Good for the mine owner. I hope this happens everywhere. If
any of those miners voted R then I hope they get quickly re-employed. They should move to ND and get jobs in the
Bakken field. As for those voting D.... Twist in the wind.

That SHTF day will much more likely occur when Bibi turns
loose the dogs of war. And he just might do it soon.
Democrat base => people unwilling to actually work for the stuff they want.
This needs to become the accepted attitude toward them.
The big question mark is -
will the SHTF slowly, or like falling off a cliff?
Wonder what will happen to our local 528 MW coal fired power plant! Many of my friends work there and there is talk of shutting it down.
blackouts will be part of the “New Normal”
makers vs takers
that was the name of a book, sounds prescient
now we can use the term:
master caste vs slave caste
If you work to support them, you are in the slave caste
ever swam in a lake?
walk out and it gets a little deeper at a time and then... drop off.
slow curve before the big drop
Same with the “event horizon” on a black hole.
We’re beyond being able to get out of this thing, but we’re still orbiting the rim.
bump
exactly
it miht be unstoppable, but this bunch won’t even try
Ah, sorry the former soviet block people I work with all are very happy with the democrats/obama. Out of the 10 I know none looked unhappy on Tue/wed.
In Utah, not many, perhaps none.
