Does Boehner actually believe that giving Amnesty to illegals will ensure that they vote Republican..he is fooling himself into believing that. The second they are given citizenship(for being criminals, I guess crime does pay) they will get welfare, food stamps, and every other Govt goody available..they will be owned by the Dem party..all Boehner is doing is giving the Dem party 12+ million more votes

I am going to sneak across the Mexican border and then illegally immigrate back to the U.S. Just call me Pedro from now on.

He thinks that and so do many other beltway 'Pubs. They think that passing some kind of liberal immigration legislation will bring droves of Latino voters into the 'Pub fold. They don't understand that none of that matters to the majority of Hispanic voters. One thing does: free money.

Once we passed the tipping point where more voters are electing political figures who promise to give them free things, the conservative cause lost. We don't expect something for nothing. But the majority of voters do. They think da gummint is there to give them things. They think there is an inexhaustible supply of money somewhere ("the rich", or "corporations", or whatever) that they can take and get the things they want. Once we became a nation of takers and not makers, were we done. The only solution I can see is letting it collapse like the old USSR and trying to rebuild something closer to what the Founders envisioned.
