I should add that I also think a lot of people, libertarians included, ridicule Christianity in much the same way they despise old white guys. However, respect for the individual and the belief that everyone has value comes from Christianity. Western civilization would not have created what it has created without Christianity. I really don’t think a pagan, immoral society is up to the task of maintaining what our Christian, white ancestors left us.

Yep, and many of those Ron Paul libertarian atheists are, oddly enough. USMC GWOT vets. I've met more than a couple who think the biggest threat to American liberty is devout Christians.

What's funny is when I tell them that, with Ron Paul's foreign policy, we wouldn't need a Marine Corps.

But yeah, the outright hatred for Christianity I've seen expressed openly in the last 5 years or so is frightening.
