Rush: GOP Lost Because It Didn't Turn Out Base

Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh says that the real reason the GOP lost the presidential election is that “the Republican Party didn’t turn out its base" — not demographic issues involving black or Hispanic growth.

“The Democrats think Republicans have a demography problem” and “all they want to do is win votes with old white guys,” Limbaugh said. But “the Republican Party has . . . far more elected Hispanics than the Democrats have.”

Limbaugh noted that all of the prominent Hispanic speakers at the Republican National Convention shared a similar “up-from-nothing story” with convention attendees and the country.

Limbaugh also said that they or their families came from nothing and that sacrifice and hard work brought them their success in their professions.

“Why doesn’t that count?” Limbaugh asked. Because “the hard work story is not resonating with Obama voters.”

“We don’t have a demography problem but the Republican Party today is convinced that they do,” said Limbaugh.

“If the Republicans who didn’t vote had voted, Mitt Romney would have won the popular vote by 180,000 [votes].”

“[Republicans] didn’t lose because of demographics; 3 million of their voters stayed home.”

We tried to warn them but after being repeatedly attacked for speaking unpopular truths we fell silent. Hell I couldn’t stand Romney but even I was pushing him at the end as a means of getting rid of Obama.

"the Republican Party didn’t turn out its base"

No. There was no conservative running in the 2012 presidential election. The GOP ran Creme-puff Casper Milquetoast McRomney, who is no differnt than the kenyan. No choice, why bother?

"By not inviting Sarah Palin to speak at the Republican Convention, Romney showed contempt for the Conservative base."

Correct, but a small part of the larger problem.

"Romney lost because of voter fraud."

The last cry of the simple minded.

What a stupid, irrational and illogical statement. If it can't be proved, how do you know it happened?

Stop with the stupid excuses for the GOP loss. Voters DIDN'T VOTE FOR THE WHITE VERSION OF THE KENYAN.This was stolen, and there's no way to prove it.

Your right. I have looked into this more. My conclusion is the election was stolen. There was fraud!!! I think we all showed up and then some! The election was rigged but powers that be. Romney won, but lost. Obama knew he was going to win. We all knew he wasn’t going to let he country fall out of his hands. But what’s done is done!

"Right... the ones that sat it out, have the responsibility now to deal with any major fallout! PERIOD!"

===========================================================

You mad bro?

Funny thing is I remember saying repeatedly during the primaries that liberal Mitt couldn't win without conservatives and that the GOP was the new Whig party.

So far I'm half right.

Now I hear the names Jeb Bush and Chris Christie being floated about.
What is it they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

The entire world has moved leftward. The dems are more liberal than ever before. The Republican party has moved leftward to the point where I cannot support them. Even Freerepublic has moved leftward in supporting a flaming liberal. Many compromised their principles and plugged their noses, but many did not. Many stated clearly way ahead of time they could not vote for Mitt and they were shouted down and called all kinds a names. The results are brutally apparent.

Conservatism is not the problem here.

The fault lies squarely with liberalism in the GOP and the only answer is certainly not more of the same which is exactly what will be served up.

Conservatism is the last best hope for America and the GOP is failed in that regard.

Party over principle is at fault, not conservatism.

Your part of the problem. No different than Obama? You might not have liked his positions, and some were closer than I would like to Obama, but the difference was night and day.

do what you want...I don't contribute to the party...I don't even consider myself a pub....

but if you think the "constitution" party or the Libtard party are going anywhere, think again....

all they've done is hand elections over to the rats....I suspect the rats support them with money....

did you learn anything from Perot...

Beck said something today....start and work locally...get good people into the city council...county boards...school boards etc...build where you can make a difference...

yes....the vote was rigged.....why didn't our side suspect this early on....why are we always the loser out....

oh sure, we have to be the honorable ones...

I say screw it....

don't we have enough rich and dubious characters to figure this thing out, at least to counter the rats????

maybe its just too devastating to the elites that the votes were stolen and they won't admit it....

work on cleaning up the vote...everyone should have a printed receipt when they vote, showing who they voted for...every polling place should keep a tab, every voter a number....

I voted but a part of me thinks a complete ownership by the dems of the trainwreck will bring about some repenting from the GOP and maybe more clear lines if we are to endure hard times..I for one am disappointed the republicans retained the house because it will bring about the word compromise again... they are only a little better than the dems.. that isn’t enough to get excited about when lighter, slower socialism is their prescription...

If we are going to vote as a nation for more godless govt, it is Gods will and means this nation who was once the worlds last best hope is closer to collapse. we are closer to the final end when america ceases and goes under.
That will terrify many unsaved but that gives me more hope and faith in God! America will not last forever... neither will we on this earth... funny that we may be thanking God for Obama and his ideology as it could bring this nation collectively to its knees...for Jesus... this nation and world has much to repent from.. God is still sovereign and still reigns. And His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts....

God reigns here.. and He has defeated sin, death and the devil. Have peace in your heart with that truth.

I think it’s time for biometric voting. Your iris scan or fingerprint scan becomes an authentication key. The trick would be figuring out a way to keep people from leeching the key from the scanner at the polling place.

***

For the record, I wasn't talking about existing third parties. I said, form a viable CONSERVATIVE party.

Republican stupidity.

There were several wide open areas where the Republicans could have pwned Obama with political ads, and they apparently didn’t have anyone leading the strategery game that could strategerize their way ouot of a wet bag.

Two examples - Gasoline and Foreign policy. They could have made ads that showed without a doubt Obama WANTED higher energy prices, with video of him stating it. They could have beaten that “flexibility” comment to the Russian PM like a drum along with other issues like the Libya fiasco.

Republicans need to also reign in their lower level congress and senate morons and get them to quit voting for crap like NDAA. With a constitutional attitude like that (something like 80% of the idiots voted for it), Obama won’t need the Supreme Court justices picked to kill the Second Amendment, Republican douchebags will just end up “working with him” to get it done...

A large chunk of mainly right leaning people aren’t going out to vote because they figure they’re going to get shafted with more government intervention and tyranny regardless of who they vote for, and Republicans CONTINUALLY PROVE THEM RIGHT.

The party left its base and the base needs a new party. Can we build on the constitution party and organize it as a powerhouse?

“Can we build on the constitution party and organize it as a powerhouse”.

The Constitution Party that has been around for years and it is everything that freedom-loving, God-fearing Americans are looking for. The problem is the two parties have a stronghold on politics in this country and will not let another party in the door. It’s a damn shame, but it’s fact.
