The ELCA voted in August 2009 to annul parts of the Bible that reproached it over one of its favorite sins. ELCA losses 2009-2011: 574,199 members
758 congregations
The prophet Joel says that Almighty God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and I take no pleasure in watching the demise of ELCA institutions.
For example, it has just been announced that in my former Synod one of the ordained Assistants to the Bishop has been terminated for financial reasons. The termination took effect November 1--yes, the situation is that dire.

(If the Patriarchate of the East held a state like the Vatican I would apply for political asylum.)

I think two issues are in play: the Almighty in his kindness and forbearance is always trying to turn sinners to repentance, but He is also leading His children out of ELCA-Babylon, which is a spiritually toxic denominational dwelling place.
