With the what-have-you-done-for-me-lately attitude prevalent among voters and the media more in lockstep with Big Government than ever Reagan couldn't win today.
The entire system's gotta come down before any real reform can happen. It is the only way.
And come down it will, of its own weight.

Or 1994. I remember Bill Archer in the House seriously moving to do away with the IRS. But that was when the USA was nation, a nation with a legitimate government.
We no longer have that. We're a banana republic with fixed elections.
