I know this type of action will hurt some people in these blue states, but the overall effect is that it will hurt the unions which are the enemies of everyone.

Don't know if many have power to do this within a company ... however, here is what I'm doing:

I am finding services to slash from my monthly budget. When I give my reason for cancelling, I calmly and politely say it is because of the election: I can't take the risk of not having the money to spend because of the policies that were voted for and will be enacted very soon...

... end of discussion ... a good, indirect way of saying "elections have consequences."
