We used to train the Iranian pilots in the 70’s!
those pilots were ‘attrited’ immediately following the islamic revolution (shot for exhibiting pahlavist tedencies) or in battle during the unpleasantness with iraq.

Yep, also Su-25s involved are dedicated close air support aircraft. I don’t think their HUDs has mode to engage aerial targets.
