Talking about the election to many friends and family who had been rooting for Romney , I found their emotions ran the entire gamut from despair to despondency. Everybody was way down. I found myself unexpectedly blue as well. Our emotions were not so much caused by the Romney defeat. Few of us were particularly excited about him. It was the Obama victory that concerned us . . .
. . . Yes, a little over half of the people who voted, a little over 60 million people, thought Obama deserved a second term. But about 59 million (the combined Romney and Gary Johnson votes) disagreed. Thats pretty close. Politics is winner-take-all, a zero-sum game. But those totals tell you just how close it was and how little it will take to change the outcome . . .
. . . My point is that I dont think Obamas victory is a mandate for big or bigger government or a sign that the American people are all Keynesians or would-be Europeans. Obama may draw a different conclusion. Id understand that. He would. But Im not discouraged just because Obama won. I dont believe it proves how far Americans would like to go down the road toward serfdom. There was plenty to be discouraged about before this election. Im not sure the election provides much new information . . .

Jack Daniels???
In an Obama second term terrorists will run rampant and attacks on US soil will increase. I expect before 2016 at least one US city will be attacked with a nuclear laced dirty bomb or a crude nuke. Terrorists will attack shopping malls and even schools and hospitals will not be immune from terrorist murder. Does anyone remember the horror of the attack by Chechen terrorists on a Russian grammar school?
By 2016 I expect things will get so bad that darn near any GOP candidate can be elected.
I feel assured that most Americans voted bammy down, but his election rigging got him the win...which to me is even more discouraging and dismaying than just having people vote for the idiot dicktator...
I guess we have to comfort ourselves that the silver lining will eventually show up? Last 4 years we said perhaps that is the wake-up call?
Now we think next 4 years is when the bottom falls out, when it is darkest before the dawn?
How many 4 years can some of us afford?
Sad indeed! But fight on we must!
