For a few brief moments over these last few weeks, I almost let wishful thinking overcome common sense and reason and almost believed right would overcome wrong, good overcome evil, and liberty overcome statism. In hindsight, however, it truly was wishful thinking and it was brief, that momentary lapse of reason, that fools folly of letting myself even ponder for a minute that Mitt Romney had a snowballs chance in hell to actually pull it off.
Last nights loss was destined to happen regardless whether Mitt Romney or the Archangel Michael were on the ballot. Beelzebub would still have still won.
Perhaps, at some point, after all the finger pointing and circular firing squads have stopped pointing fingers and shooting at each other, and after the talking heads have stopped hypothesizing about why Mitt Romney is not the 45th President of the United States, someone will dig a little deeper and realize that, what the Left accomplished on Tuesday was not an accident. Barack Obamas victory certainly wasnt based on merit, nor was it based on a lack of enthusiasm for Mitt Romney, or his being a bad candidate (though there is an argument to be had there).
Tuesdays loss boiled down to two simple things that the Right still doesnt quite get:
It came down to boots on the ground, and leaving egos at the door.

The Lord is 'punishing' 'us' as a nation? Individuals choose hell by how they live their lives. I'm happy living in my state -- who is in the White House doesn't affect me that much.
I don’t know about beelzebub, but “Barrak”bus certainly did.
If Christ had run, “Barrak”bus would have been chosen instead!
“Barrakus”? “Barrakbus”?
How many votes did he get? I’m asking because I can only use free web search engines and they don’t return results that minucule.
When Jesus returns, about half of the people in this country would shoot at him.
Apparently not that many. Gary Johnson the Libertarian candidate got 1.1 million. Jill Stein of the Green party got 378 thousand. And apparently Virgil Goode got less than those two. I'm disappointed in that showing, but I don't think he was seriously campaigning.
I agree. Mitt, like McCain, was forced on us. Neither were a choice of conservatives. My sister, a flaming liberal (one of four), kept posting talking points about Mitt being a liar. She doesn’t have a clue what Nobama has lied about. She refuses to listen, yet she would continue to post about Mitt lying and changing his position on issues. We need someone who has never waivered—hard to find. And we need to get better control of the process. It would be great if the RNC would do some caucusing before the primaries, so that there’s not 12 candidates with the convention delegates spread between them. Something has to change.
Give us Barabas! (Barack?)
Like Barabas, Barackas almost did major fed time.
Rezko was pressured by feds to flip on Barackas along with Rod Blagojevich.
Also like Barabas, Barackas is a maniac who the people preferred over—I can’t even say it.
