The Roman Emperor Hadrian named biblical Israel “Palestine” in 100 AD to further infuriate the Jews. It was based on the Philistines. The old antagonists of the Israelites. It's an Italian word.

Now that he’s leading them by the nose to “tax the rich,” it’s just a slight modification to get them chanting “tax the Jews,” then “kill the jews.”

Germany indeed.

You haven’t shown that there has ever been a sovereign nation called “Palestine”....Throughout recorded history, “Palestine” has only been a region...much like what we call in the USA the midwest, ergo “midwesterners”....
There has never been a Palestine nation....

The True History of Palestine: The Nation-State Fallacy By William John Hagan The Houston Home Journal (Warner Robins, GA) Print Edition 08/24/2005 The current debate on the inevitable future of the ?Palestinian Nation? seems to lack one simple fact: Palestine has no past and was never a sovereign nation. The closest thing the Palestinian people have to a history is that there was once a British Colony from which they had stolen their modern name. After the Allied victory in World War Two, it became clear to even the most anti-Semitic Westerners that the Jewish People deserved to have their nation restored. The Nation of Israel?s first record of historically existence is a mention in the Book of Exodus (3:16),however, even earlier references are made in Genesis to the tribes of Israel. It is both biblical and historical fact that Israel was founded by Moses after the Jewish expulsion from Egypt by Ramases II. This would place this event sometime between 1290 and 1224 BC. The reality that the Palestinians want to keep from you is that there has been a Jewish presence in Israel for almost 3300 years. The history of the Palestinian People in far more recent than that of their Jewish neighbors. In fact, ?Palestine? was created by the British Empire in the days after World War II. According to RockwellLazareth author of the essay ?Who are the Palestinians??, ?There has never been a civilization or a nation referred to as Palestine and the very notion of a Palestinian Arab nation having ancient attachments to the Holy Land going back to time immemorial is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated upon the world! There is not, nor has there ever been, a distinct Palestinian culture or language. Further, there has never been a Palestinian state governed by Arab Palestinians in history, nor was there ever a serious Arab-Palestinian national movement until 1964.? The most disturbing reality is that the ?Palestinians? are not even Arabs at all but Canaanites who have over the years adopted Arab culture and language. For all their history, the Canaanites have been a nomdic sea-faring people who traveled between such nations as Lebannon, Syria, and Turkey but making a premenant home in no land. The British allowed these modren Palastinian Canaanites to set up their tents in colonial Palestine so they could be used as a cheap source of labor for the citrus industry. This historical fact leaves the so-called Palestinians with a far more blundering claim to Israel than illegal Mexican immigrants would have to the United States. Israel will continue to exist. It’s the U.S.A. that will be gone.

I had hoped it wouldn't be this soon though.

Obama knows his personal legacy will be secured in this history of the international world in establishing the Palestinian State. Nation creation is a strategic event that comes once in a generation and he has four years to do it, with Ambassador Susan Rice as the new Secretary of State. It is a natural reaction to most megalomaniacs thriving on cult of personality looking to make the most worldy impact that he would put focus on making this happen. Israel must understand this reality and plan accordingly.

Canaanites and Philistines were there "first". The Children of Israel took the land as led by Moses and Joshua.

What does "first" really mean? Who gets to define "first?"

The Greek historian Herodotus in the fifth century B.C. has the word Palaistine for a portion of Syria (probably the area of the ancient Philistines but it isn't clear what the borders were). Since the name is from the Philistines it must have been remembered through the centuries--that was during the period of Persian rule but I don't know if there is any evidence from Assyrian or Babylonian records of what they called that area.

The Philistines seem to have come from the Aegean area about the same time as the Israelite invasion across the Jordan. They are one of the Sea Peoples mentioned in Egyptian records as "Peleset."

Yep, it’s all going to happen when Ariel Sharon dies, he has been in a comma for 7 years, a rabbi predicted the messiah would come after Ariel dies, but is the messiah the true or false messiah, scary times!

The Neanderthals were there first. If they can find some Neanderthals, they would have the best claim.

I don't know where there are any Neanderthals now...but maybe Democratic campaign offices would be a good place to start looking for some.

I am a Christian, not a Jew. I have a feeling though that if Obama does something adverse to Israel he will have a major portion of the population outside his window.
IMO would be the wrong and dumb move.

EVERY Israel hater is dominated by Satan. Satan is the only being in the universe to have cause to hate Israel that much. The Bible promises that those who hate Israel will pay for it.
